If the closed is in Louisville, will Johnstone play this year? Also, how do we contact him? Last I heard he doesn't check the message board at all.

Has Johnstone confirmed he will be playing? If you give me his number I'll confirm if you haven't. I just know that he got frustrated last time with no one calling him on time and I'd like to make sure that doesn't occur.

Also, if he isn't going to play, it will give Mike Thomas a longer period of time to prepare which I think Mike would be appreciative.

When and where will the Adult Closed be held? I didn't see any posts on it. What time are the rounds? Also, has anyone called Johnstone yet?

From my last conversation with Allen, it is this weekend. Round times are still not decided nor is the site. It will be at 1 of 3 potential sites here in Louisville. Allen may have more details today. I have heard nothing of the conversation involving Johnstone.

I've tried to get the site updated but I'm not having any luck. I snet this for posted last week.

KCA Ky Closed
July 17-18, 2010
This is an invitational tournament. Spectators are welcome, but the field is set.

The tournament will be held in the library at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 319 Browns Lane, Louisville, KY 40207. That room is on the lower level of the church.

The first 3 rounds are Saturday July 17. The pairings are posted on the message board of the KCA website. The time control is Game 90. The first 3 rounds will be Saturday at 10am, 2pm, and 6:00pm. If all the games are done and all agree to start a little early then we will.

The 2 rounds on Sunday July 18 will also be at the church. There will be folks there for services but there will be parking available.

The first round on Sunday will be at 9AM and the final round will begin at 1pm.

Each player will receive a $50 appearance fee provided they play all 5 rounds. The winner will receive $300 more. Ties will split the prize. The winner will represent Kentucky in the tournament of state champions.
