This calendar below lists tournaments for K-12 students. Click a tournament title for details. We suggest scholastic chess players subscribe to both the calendar for KCA official championship events and the calendar for scholastic events by other organizers using Google Calendar or their favorite calendar program.
We also encourage scholastic players to participate in open tournaments alongside adults. The calendar for those is here.
Players may also be interested in the US Chess National events which are open to all scholastic players, especially National Elementary Championships (K-6), National Middle School Championships(K-8), National High School Championships (K-12), National Grade Championships (K-12), and the All Girls National Championship (K-12). Of particular note is SuperNationals every four years, when all three National level tournaments are held in the same location, and is one of the largest chess tournaments in the world: the next is SuperNationals IX, April 20-22, 2029 in Columbus, OH. Dates and Locations for all National tournaments are scheduled years in advance and available on uschess.org
Note that except for official KCA championship events, tournaments are added to this calendar directly by tournament organizers. The KCA doesn’t vet or endorse the tournaments and does not check the accuracy of the information.
